1. RIPAC IS NOW HIRING A NEW ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR
  • Calling all patient advocates: we're looking to expand the staff of RIPAC! If you're looking for a job, and you've got what it takes, visit www.RIpatients.org/jobs to view the Associate Director posting and learn how to apply.
  • Please pass along the job description link to anyone who'd be interested. We're especially seeking applications from folks with background experience in law, law enforcement, and medicine.
2. PAIN PATIENT? SIGN UP FOR NEW FEDERAL MARIJUANA STUDY
  • Leading medical marijuana researcher Dr. Donald Abrams is seeking patients for a new federally-approved study investigating marijuana's interaction with opiod pain medications like oxycodone and morphine.
  • Click here for the details of this paid 5-day study in San Francisco. The study needs more patients! If you meet the criteria and enroll, please let us know!

3. 10/3 UCONN PANEL DISCUSSION ON MEDICAL MARIJUANA IN CT
  • At 7:30pm on Wednesday, October 3, the SSDP chapter at the University of Connecticut will host a discussion on medical marijuana in CT. The panel will include a legislator, a patient, and an activist, and will be held at the UConn-Storrs campus. The event's flyer is here.
  • RIPAC members are planning to make the 90-minute drive, in solidarity with CT patients and activists. Contact RIPAC if you'd like to come too.
4. WE'RE LOOKING FOR A USED CAR AND A NEW OFFICE
  • Do you, or does someone you know, have a used car to donate (or sell cheaply) to a good cause?  As an IRS-recognized 501(c)3 non-profit organization, RIPAC would happily offer a tax deduction in return.
  • Do you know of a business in Providence with room to spare?  RIPAC is looking for a good deal on office space.  Contact us if you have a tip on a car or an office rental.
5. NEXT COMMUNITY MEETING AND CARDHOLDER MEETING
  • RIPAC's next medical marijuana Community Meeting for patients, caregivers, advocates, and anyone else interested in learning more will be 7pm, Tuesday, October 16. Contact RIPAC for more information.
  • Our next Cardholder Meeting, only for licensed patients and caregivers in the RI Medical Marijuana Program, will be 7pm, Tuesday, October 30. If you are a licensed patient or caregiver and would like to attend, contact RIPAC here.
Have a healthy day,
RIPAC
