•    describe the chemical constituents of the marijuana plant, the basic pharmacokinetics of marijuana and primary applications for the medical use of marijuana,

•    employ techniques to identify marijuana abuse and/or dependence among medical marijuana patients,

•    effectively utilize legal protections created by the Rhode Island Medical Marijuana Program,

•    prevent legal liability under the law while overseeing the medical use of marijuana in patients.
