1. MASSACHUSETTS MEDICAL MARIJUANA HEARING 12/12
  • At 10am on Wednesday, December 12, there will be a legislative committee hearing on the Massachusetts medical marijuana bill at the state capitol building in Boston.
  • Rhode Islanders will be there to show solidarity with Massachusetts patients!  If you're interested in traveling together or just more information, please write to [email protected] (and mention whether you have a car).
2. RHODE ISLAND PATIENTS CONFRONT SEN. JOHN MCCAIN
  • As you can see at granitestaters.com, all of the Democratic presidential candidates have pledged not to arrest medical marijuana patients if elected.  RI patients have been pressuring popular Republican candidate Sen. John McCain to join them.
  • Click here to watch RI patient Chris Neves pressuring Sen. McCain to improve his position on 11/17, and click here to watch RI patient Bobbie Ebert participate in receiving McCain's commitment: "I just want to assure you that I'll do everything in my power to make sure that you never have the threat of that [arrest] happening to you."
3. VIDEO OF RIPAC PRESENTATION AT NORML CONFERENCE
  • Last month we featured a picture of RIPAC Executive Director Jesse Stout's presentation at the 2007 NORML Conference in Los Angeles.  Jesse discussed the history of medical marijuana in Rhode Island and compared California's and Rhode Island's laws.
  • Now, that speech has been posted online: click here to watch the video!
4. DREW CAREY ON MEDICAL MARIJUANA FOR REASON.TV
  • The recent second episode of the Drew Carey Project at Reason.tv, produced by Reason magazine, is all about medical marijuana.
  • Click here to watch Drew Carey's medical marijuana feature, which includes visits to California dispensaries and Americans for Safe Access Executive Director Steph Sherer.
5. NEXT COMMUNITY MEETING AND CARDHOLDER MEETING
  • RIPAC's next Community Meeting for patients, caregivers, advocates, and anyone else interested in learning more about medical marijuana will be 7pm, Tuesday, December 11. Contact RIPAC for more information.
