1.
YOU'RE INVITED: RIPAC 2008 FUNDRAISER PARTY WEDS 11/19
  • Please support RIPAC's work by joining us for our 2008 fundraiser party, Wednesday, November 19, from 6:00-8:00pm, at Trinity Brewhouse at Fountain St. & Empire St. in Providence.
  • Click here to download a ticket so you can mail us your donation before the event.
2. PLEASE VOTE TUESDAY
  • This Tuesday, November 4, will be an historic election for Rhode Island and America. Please vote. You can check your polling place, for regular voting or same-day registration, at this site.
  • Besides the Presidential election, Michigan will consider medical marijuana, Massachusetts will consider marijuana decriminalization, and California will consider changing marijuana possession from a misdemeanor to an infraction.
3. JOIN THIS STUDY ON MARIJUANA AND CHRONIC PAIN, GET PAID
  • If you use medical marijuana to treat chronic pain, consider joining this study -- you could receive $500 plus lodging and travel to San Francisco.
  • Read this flyer for details and contact info: you must already be prescribed an opiate and must be willing to stay in San Francisco General Hospital for five days and nights.
4. FAMILY SERVICE OF RI ENDORSES MEDICAL MARIJUANA & RIPAC
  • RIPAC is grateful to Family Service of Rhode Island for the group's new resolution endorsing patients' access to medical marijuana and RIPAC's mission.
  • Family Service of RI is an outstanding social services provider, and one of our state's oldest and most-respected non-profit organizations.
5. FEATURED LINK: MICHIGAN: STOPARRESTINGPATIENTS.ORG
  • The Michigan Coalition for Compassionate Care (MCCC, stoparrestingpatients) is organizing in favor of Michigan's Proposal 1, which would protect offer Michigan's medical marijuana patients the same protections afforded to patients here in RI.
  • If you know anyone in Michigan, make sure they know about Proposal 1, and how you feel about medical marijuana. Michigan would be the first midwestern state to protect patients.
6. NOVEMBER ORIENTATIONS, COMMUNITY, CARDHOLDER MEETINGS
  • This month and every month we're doing one-on-one Patient Orientations and Caregiver Orientations for patients and caregivers to meet with RIPAC staff or a volunteer to learn their rights and responsibilities under the Medical Marijuana Act. Contact RIPAC here if you'd like an orientation appointment.
  • RIPAC's next open Community Meeting for patients, caregivers, advocates, and anyone else interested in learning more about medical marijuana will be 6:30pm-8:00pm, Tuesday, November 18, at East Providence's Riverside Library (275 Bullocks Point Avenue, Riverside). Contact RIPAC for more information.
  • Our next Cardholder Meeting for patients and caregivers licensed in the Medical Marijuana Program will be 7pm, Tuesday, November 25. If you are a licensed patient or caregiver and can attend, contact us for more details.
To sustain our efforts to organize patients and educate our state, please donate to RIPAC at RIpatients.org/donate or by calling us at 401-861-1601.
